Customer Review

on 11 August 2013
With Hobbit fever rife, I went back and re-watched the original trilogy. And guess what, it still holds up. Aside from the films, complete with loads of extra footage that while may be a bit much for the casual viewer, is brilliantly satisfying for more hardcore fans, this box set is loaded with extra features that are hugely entertaining. Some are whimsical little extras, such as production stills and artwork, while others are indepth looks at the making of the films complete with interviews and commentaries.
Value-wise this has enough content to keep you happy and entertained for weeks. This is what box set should be like and other directors would do well to take note at how the DVD realises can be so much more than they often are. If studios want to curb illegal downloading they must realise they have to make DVDs good value for money. This Ida perfect example. Can't wait for the Hobbit box set, only 3 years to go.
