This review is from: WJEC GCSE History: The Development of the USA 1930-2000 (WJHI) (Paperback)
A much expected companion to the very popular WJEC USA 1929-200 paper- this book covers the three sections in an attractive, detailed and very helpful manner. Like its counterpart in USA 1920-29 and Germany 1929-47 this book is faithful to teh WJEC specification and overssen by the main examiners on the course it is, as can be expected very practical, relevant and focussed on teh course. The three sections: of teh course have three separated sections; covering 'Changing life in America', 'Changing Attitudes to the Race issue' and 'USA in the wider world'- each section is broken down into the related sub sections, linked to the specification and exam style questions, tips and model answers are in every section.
The book is detailed for those who want to delve but also accessible and well written. Colour illustrations an excellent structure and very well presented. Only criticism is to do with the specification not the book- in popular music across the century Frank Sinatra could have had a mention :)
