A Mine of Information!,
This review is from: London's Houses (Paperback)
What a fantastic little book! It contains information, architecture and history on 65 houses to be found in and around London from Buckingham Palace, Hampton Court (just)to Queen Elizabeth 1 Hunting Lodge. It covers the whole of Inner and Greater London and ranges from Enfield in the North to Croydon in the South, and from Harrow in the West to Barking in the East. Full of intriguing snippets of information about some of the owners of these houses it also gives up to date information about "how-to-get-there" and hours of opening.
Small enough (about postcard size) and just an inch thick it would comfortably fit into a bag to be looked at at leisure. As someone who is responsible for arranging outings in and around London I find it absolutely invaluable since it lists places that are not found anywhere else. I would highly recomend it to anyone that is interested in out of the way and little known buildings - buy it!
