`The Men Who Stare at Goats' is the hilarious film about a psi-ops unit of the American army and a reporter called Bob (played by McGregor) who learns more about them. The leader of the unit hasn't been heard from in a while and Lyn Cassidy (played superbly by Clooney) uses his psychic powers to find him in the deserts of Iraq. This film follows the founding of the unit, as well as the events in Iraq and alternates between these two stories. This film is quirky and fun and I laughed out loud and enjoyed it way more than I thought I would. Clooney is a wonderful comedic actor and makes this film extra special, but to be honest the whole cast is great (Spacey, Bridges and McGregor all compliment) and play their roles excellently. This is a relatively short film at just under 90 minutes, but it is perfectly formed and keeps you hooked for the duration. On a more serious note some of these kind of things actually took place, whether it be the interrogation techniques used in Iraq, or the psi-ops experiments in the 60's, 70's and 80's, but this film puts a delightful comedic slant on them and makes for a great, light hearted adventure. Well worth checking out and highly recommended.
