I rarely review things on Amazon as to be honest there are very few things which either impress me or depress me enough to want to review it. This one is a definite impress. I was wanting a USB3 enclosure for a spare 640GB Samsung 2.5" drive I had but did not want to pay much money for it as I already had a USB2 enclosure. I was looking to buy another IcyBox enclosure which I already had for another drive and while has some drawbacks; For one it was hard to get into to swap drives once closed. And the main gripe was a large flashing blue light at the top of the drive that is distracting like crazy (I use my hard drive to play movies on my Blu-Ray player) I had to stick two layers of masking tape over the light and keep the drive upside down to stop it from distracting me. The problem is the IcyBox is £15 plus which I don't want to pay. I was hunting for an enclosure for around £10 and having great difficulty. I couldn't believe it when I seen this. Figured it was worth a punt. This enclosure is way nicer than the Icybox. I bought the full aluminium version for a pound more and on opening the box I seen a nice looking weighty metal feeling case (not plastic like the Icybox). I then pulled out the instructions to see how to open the drive case to put the drive in and was impressed with the mechanism on opening the case. I did some quick speed tests and to transfer a file I was getting ~96MB/s so am definitely getting the full USB3. Overall if you want a USB3 enclosure there is no need to pay any more than this. Its a very nice design and feels like it could and should cost double the price it does.
