1.0 out of 5 stars Tedious, slow and too too long, 20 Aug. 2011
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: The Snowman: A Harry Hole thriller (Oslo Sequence 5) (Kindle Edition)
Long, convoluted, the twists and turns are there to fill in the pages and make up for lack of skill in the writing. Perhaps it is due to poor translation or maybe the characters are poorly drawn. Another tedious Jo Nesbo, trying to cash in on Stig Larsson

It is wonderful how opinions differ, isn't it (and I'm being serious when I say that :-) ). All the criticisms you have leveled at The Snowman were the same criticisms I had of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. To be fair to Nesbo, I doubt it was his idea to slap a sticker on his books saying "The Next Steig Larsson", or to re-release all his books with Larsson-like covers. I definitely blame the publishers for trying to cash-in, there, not Nesbo. Also, Nesbo's first Harry Hole novel was in print eight years before The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo was released, so the publishers' calling him 'the next Larsson' doesn't work whatever way you look at it. Personally, I liked The Snowman a lot, but I had read all the previous novels beforehand, in order, so maybe that added to my enjoyment.

Hope you enjoy whatever you read next!

I do agree with you about differing opinions and I think that's great. I also tried another Scandi Lit book and that too drove me to the delete button on my Kindle.
