My review on Catch me if you can,
This review is from: Catch Me If You Can [DVD] (DVD)
Catch me if you can is a true story about a charming and devious con man Frank W Abagnale Jr who fakes his identity through various professions to obtain millions of dollars and was continuously chased by FBI. The movie is set in 1960's America, which is noticeable with the distinctive fashions, uniforms and music.
As the story is true, does it really reflect actual events of what happened concerning the fraudster? A small number of details may have been over-exaggerated, just to add amusement and entertainment to the movie. How he managed to obtain millions of dollars through deception and fake identity is really amazing and arouses curiosity. The FBI relentlessly chased him around America, no matter what the cost. But did they catch or did he continue to create havoc for the FBI? All will be revealed in the movie.
Overall, an enjoyable and entertainment movie to watch which is actually true, but question marks need to be raised about the truthfulness of the story. Like I say, I remain doubtful about. Fraud is still a major headache for police forces to combat. Over the years, there have been a large number of cases similar to the movie and an insight into how police force deal with the problem is clearly pointed out. The casting is solid with Tom Hanks, Leonardo DiCaprio and Christopher Walken. Just watch and judge what views and opinions you share about the movie.
