As a youth, I used to listen to this album and other Family works in my mates house. He was a Family freak! I used to like the band and their albums without being a true devotee. I saw them live twice in the 70's. However, all these years later, I now appreciate what a fantastic group of musicians the band were. Family Entertainment for me is one of their best albums. A curious mix of styles which I couldn't really describe-at the time we called it 'underground music' or 'progressive rock'- it still sounds amazingly fresh and unique. I could imagine today's yoof getting down to this music as we did. Roger Chapman -'The Electric Goat'- has a remarkable bluesy voice although some of tracks almost border on Nu-Folk. as David Coleman once said--'Quite Remarkable' !

Your comments voiced my experience of this album when I was about 18-19yrs. Whilst I never saw them live I too remember listening to this album at my mates house. Thanks for the trip down memory lane
