The best book on the topic of writing engaging stories!,
This review is from: The Anatomy of Story: 22 Steps to Becoming a Master Storyteller (Paperback)
I've read numerous books on the subject but all seemed to be skimming the surface and never really answering my questions in depth I wanted until I accidentally come across this book. 22 steps goes beyond a good story structure or writing a blockbuster screenplay: it helps you to understand what it is you're trying to say and say it in the most powerful way. It helps to elevate the whole narrative of your work, helps to see clearly where you're going (working from the final scene backwards is a great trick) and to really understand things in your own mind making the process of writing much easier. At least it did for me. I know this is supposed to be a book on how to write good scripts but it also helps with understanding the psychology of characters which brings them to life more than any detailed describtion could. One thing: it won't write the story for you by itself, you still have to do all the work! But it makes work a play and joy - it really isNobody Nowhere: The Extraordinary Autobiography of an AutisticNobody Nowhere: The Extraordinary Autobiography of an Autistic much easier when you know, how!
