Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: The Last Praetorian (The Redemption Trilogy Book 1) (Kindle Edition)
The story line had the potential to be very good, however the author needs to make up his mind as to what he is writing. Is this a badly written love story with poorly written encounters, or is it an above average silence fiction Space military adventure.
I found myself skipping over pages devoted to Jon's feelings about the princess. Without all this and a lot more put into the detail around the tech it it could be a good book.

Hi Readsalot,

I don't usually reply to many reviews, but I see many similar ones to the one that you posted, so you're the lucky one to be chosen that I respond to. I don't take any particular exception to your review (as I mention above I have seen lots of similar ones) but the thought does occur to me that can you not have a story that is a science fiction space adventure AND a romance? Is their some rule somewhere (that I have obviously missed) that forbids this? It is something that I have rarely seen done, and often badly. Hence I wanted to take a shot at doing it right.

Regards,

Mike Smith
