5.0 out of 5 stars Very good indeed, 28 Sept. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Lenovo G505 15.6-inch Laptop (Black) - (AMD A4 5000 1.5GHz Processor, 4GB RAM, 1TB HDD, DVDRW, LAN, WLAN, BT, Integrated Graphics, Windows 8) (Personal Computers)
For the price (£329) I've got to say this is a fantastic laptop. The AMD A4 5000 is pretty much an even match for a standard Intel core i3 and Windows 8 runs very quickly indeed. I upgraded to 8GB RAM before switching it on, and would highly recommend doing so, it's only £25 on Amazon and takes 2 minutes. The touchpad takes a few days to fully wake up so be patient if you think it's being a bit unresponsive the first few times you use it. Great laptop.

Hi, how would you go about getting the RAM upgrade before switching it on?

Buy RAM module from Amazon or elsewhere making sure it matches speed of the existing memory. If you already have the laptop check the system spec either in the manual, online or by entering the BIOS setup screen when switching on the computer. Alternatively, the memory scanning tool found on Crucial's website is very useful for this as it tells you exactly what memory the computer already has and the maximum amount and speed of RAM permitted, along with suitable modules with prices to buy direct, though compare costs with Amazon/elsewhere first.

Insert new module into empty slot according to instructions, re-attach cover, switch on and go. Hope that helps
