I got this watch from my girlfriend, after I made a selection of all G-Shock watches I liked. This watch is a nice black watch, without bells, microwave-functionalities or secret toiletseatcovers in it. It is just a very solid black watch with just a little extra features besides basic functionality. You have to consider that I'm writing this review based on its normal functions and it's solidity. I am not interested in the time in Tasmania or other functions besides alarms and stopwatch. The watch is set up easily, within 15 minutes, I had the watch completely "installed" to my wishes. This watch displays the time both analog and digital, which I find very useful. I'm more a digital kinda guy, but there aren't many G-Shocks that I find appealing.
So here the pro's and cons:
+ Watch itself is easy to set up and easy to read. Very solid, 1 color + the digital indicators in the watch are "reversed-colored". That means the letters and numbers appear white while the background is black. Normally, you have white backgrounds with black digital letters&numbers. This looks actually pretty cool, but it's sometimes hard to read (see cons) + The visible side of wristband is made of fabric, which is a very firm material. The "skin-side" of the wristband is covered with plastic-like fabric in orange color, which gives just the right accents. + Wristband is broad, which looks sporty and goes all the way under the the watch itself. So no skin irritation because you are allergic to the backside-metal of the watch + The buttons are nicely fitted in the watch and cannot be pressed easily by accident + very shock resistant + waterresistant
- the watch is thick, well, I guess if you start looking for a G-Shock then you'll know it is. But it is worth the consideration since getting something out of your pocket or fitting a tight longsleeve can be quite a pain.... - the LED light is just an orange light located on the left bottom corner which does not lit everything. If the location of the light was a bit higher, it could shine over the pointers. Backlight would be more handy for me to lit up the digital clocks, but I guess you would not see the pointers/timeindicators then. - the black-background in the digital indicators can be a pain to read sometimes. In the dark, you can forget it. Not even the light will make the letters of the digital indicators visible. - G-shock wristbands are very hard to find. So if the original one breaks, and you buy a "regular" watchband, then the watch immediately looks less cool than before.
