One of the better 10x zoom compacts,
This review is from: Nikon COOLPIX S6300 Compact Digital Camera - Black (16MP, 10x Optical Zoom) 2.7 inch LCD (Camera)
Having decided to upgrade from my 4 year old Sony ,I wanted something with at least 10x zoom.I have recently had a Canon SX230,Samsung WB720,and a Fuji F500.All had multi-features and long zooms, but none blew me away, and were a tad on the heavy and bulky size for pocket use.So I went for a more compact camera.
I have now settled on the Nikon S6300 ,and to be honest produces better results than the Samsung and Fuji. The CMOS censor does seem to work much better in low light,as did the Canon SX230 with it also. However ,because it is small and light,it needs a steady hand when used indoors and lower light, and also when using the zoom.
The features are not too complicated, but it could have had a dial to navigate through them quickly. When you do use the Scene setting you have to scroll on screen until you get to the one you want which takes`time. The setting for tracking moving objects works really well, better than any camera have I tried before.
A good camera,video OK,sharp pictures,good indoors,no good if your hands shake.
