The latest offering in the series and arguably the darkest of the series. This story concentrates on Sookie's ancestry and and her Fae relations, (fairies to you and me!) but don't let the word fairies fool you these ain't no Tinkerbells!! Murderous, Sadistic and Bloodthirsty are words that spring to mind and its not good when its directed against Sookie, the side plot of the Were's/shifters going public is a good one and neatly entwines with the main story along with further developments in the Eric/Sookie relationship. As with all the books in the series they are superbly written and you find yourself caring about the characters. But there is a definate edge to this one which hasn't been apparent before, the humour is still there but only just and its a strained humour - as though Sookie is tired of putting on a brave face all the while and a sense of fear runs though it which I have not really noticed before which in my opinion makes it very cleverly written.
