Tim Severin is rapidly becoming my favourite author. I found hard to put this book down, and the writer succeeds in taking us back in time, immersing us in well researched settings and situations. I felt that I could see all the events first hand due to Severin's engaging writing. This book follows on from the events in 'Saxon', but is presented in such a way that you could read it on its own and still be able to enjoy the story and historical references. A good read.
