A Perfect Summer Read,
This review is from: We'll Meet Again (Hardcover)
Lily Baxter (Dilly Court), knows Guernsey well and this comes across in 'We'll Meet Again'. It is well researched and written, drawing you in to the lives of the characters. I rarely read romantic fiction but I really enjoyed this novel. All the names are genuine Guernsey names and anyone who knows the Island at all will recognise it within these pages. It brings into focus the problems and dangers experienced by the people during the Occupation, the fact that many of the German's were just soldiers doing their duty and were not all bad. Anyone who enjoyed Potato Peel Pie should read this one, to be honest it is a far more accurate portrayal of the times.
Fans of her other books (Dilly/Lily) will not be disapointed and I have a feeling that this new series set during WW2 will bring her many more.
