On top of promoting peace between Israel and Palestine, Orphaned Land are also among the handful of most talented metal bands in the world today. Mabool has been very well described by other reviewers so I won't get into details. I could describe it as melodic death metal, oriental metal, etc... None of these tags matter. What matters is that Orphaned Land have that extra touch of magic, of talent, of genius, that separate them from all the other bands one could put under the same tags. They are amazing musicians. Mabool is a must-have. A few years later, they managed to do it again with their follow-up album, OrWarrior. Criticisms? I'll find one just for the sake of it: Kobi Fahri isn't the best "grunter" on the death metal scene and doesn't quite scale the same heights (or should I say depths?) as Spiros Antoniou. But then, who does? One of the very few albums I keep playing again, and again, and again. Talent on that level doesn't happen very often.
