I like to cook lamb pink and beef rare but I am not always consistant with results. This thermometer allows me to choose the degree of rareness that suits me via a simple menu selection system. The inbuilt alarm warns when the selected temperature is about to be reached and Hey Presto! a perfect roast every time. I also use it with the Staub vertical roaster when cooking chicken with great results. It takes a little practice to find the best place to insert the probe so that the overall meat temperature is representative but apart from that it is easy to master. This will suit budding cooks like me as it promotes confidence to experiment.
