Fantastic follow up to Simon's debut album "8-Bit Heart". Simon Curtis is an independent artist, yet to be signed to a major label - why, I don't know. Having gained a massive online following after Simon gave his first album away for free via his website (which you can still download now, and I urge that you do).
"RA" - which stands for Robot Army, the cute name for his collective of followers (think GaGa and her little monsters and you are on the right lines, but far less pretentious) - is an incredibly dark electro-pop album which speaks of everything that make us human - love, loss, betrayal, anger - emotions that everyone can relate too.
RA see's Simon not only grow as an artist, but a credible artist at that. With over 1 million hits on last.fm and over 250,000 followers on Twitter, and countless more on Facebook - this little boy robot that had a dream is starting to see the rewards from all his hard work - and he certainly knows how to make his fans feel special - the mark of a true legend in the making.
It's about time that their was a popstar out there who doesn't rely on shock music videos or attention-grabbing headlines to obtain respect from his fans.
The album is Raw, Consistent, Dirty and shows us that this is what pop music is missing. This is where male pop music NEEDS to be, and Simon Curtis has set the bar.
Highly recommended to fans of pop music, and looking for something that for once, lives up to the hype that Simon and his dedicated followers have been building up. You will not regret it.
