I am a big fan of Denise Mina and her novels of Glasgow. This one however; was not up to the standard of her previous works. The plot seemed forced, especially putting Paddy Mehan, a character from some previous works, into the story. There was no attempt to involve the reader and all conclusions seemed pretty well telegraphed way before 'the end'. Take a look at 'The End of The Wasp Season' and you will see how well Mina can write, then compare it to this work and see why this story is disappointing.
