I found this in a book shop and thought the illustrations were gorgeous. On first reading the story, I wondered if the message was more aimed at adults than my 2 year old. However, it has become his most requested book - I think because it has lots of recognisable places in it. He likes talking about going to a cafe and eating carrot cake like the rabbit for example, and always stops at the picture of the rabbit on the telephone at the beginning and pretends he is the rabbit phoning his friend. I don't agree with the reviewer who has said the story pushes consumerism too much (and I am wary of this myself) - for me, it simply shows lots of the places we go in our daily lives.
