Dammit, I've read them all.,
This review is from: Forgive Us Our Press Passes (Paperback)
I used to pity people who hadn't discovered Ian Skidmore's writing. Now I envy them. They've got it all to come - the books, the blog, the erudition, always worn lightly, always spiced with wit. A newspaperman of some renown, author or many books, and an outstanding broadcaster, in all his millions of words, Skidmore hardly ever struck a false note. Everything he has ever read (which is, come to think of it, practically everything that's ever been written), his remarkable adventures (many with glass in hand), all the fascinating people he's met (at least they were fascinating in the telling), they all feed in to his books and columns and blogs which are, quite simply, a celebration of being alive. The newcomer to Skidmore has all this to come whereas I, dammit, have read them all. I suppose i could always read them again...
