This review is from: The New Illustrated Children's Bible (Paperback)
This is the same book also published under the title "7 x 7 Bible Stories", but it costs twice as much. Originally in German, it is a shorter version of the "Neukirchen Kinder-Bibel".
The illustrations by Dutch artist Kees de Kort are the reason to buy it. He has spent his whole life illustrating the Bible, and was notably the illustrator of a popular series of children's pamphlets in the 1970s called "What the Bible Tells Us". Many of the illustrations here overlap with those of the pamphlets, but as the pamphlets are no longer in print, this may be the best way to find them. I believe there are also some illustrations here which are not in the pamphlets.
I give it only three stars because of the higher price than the identical "7 x 7 Bible Stories", and because the illustrations are reproduced in smaller format than in the pamphlets, and there are not enough of them!
