Not a huge fan of these kinds of games (Galaga, R-Type, etc.), so I don't have a yearning to get top scores and to unlock all the galaxies (levels) in the game. However, as a bit of diversion from the usual level grinding/story advancement/hop & skip of the other titles in my Wii collection, this fits the bill nicely. Occasionally I'd pop it into my Wii for some brainless blasting fun. Works quite well with the Wii-remote, some lovely graphic effects (even though it's all geometric shapes) and a good variety of challenges. Techno soundtrack can be a bit grating, although retro sound effects make up for its monotony. And truthfully the difficulty can ramp up considerably from level to level, which might kill any urge for advancement for more casual gamers. Best played in short burst as a brief diversion if you're not in the mood for the cerebral challenge of the latest Zelda or Metroid epic. Just stick to paying budget price, and you shouldn't be disappointed.
