This review is from: 100 Ideas for Secondary Teachers: Outstanding Lessons (100 Ideas for Teachers) (Paperback)
Teachers can be a fickle bunch about seeking advice on teaching. We often don't have the time we would all like to reflect on our teaching, the guidance provided on CPD courses can be so cryptic as to be beyond any use whatsoever and then there is the sticky issue of if the person leading the CPD can still cut the mustard in the classroom themselves...
This book, 100 Ideas for Secondary Teachers: Outstanding Lessons, provides the reader with a plethora of tested ideas on a range of issues that we face as educators. From teaching to behaviour to questioning and even risk taking, the author, who is certainly still cutting the mustard in the classroom, writes with an easy to digest style and keeps each of the 100 ideas to key essential points.
The author covers his world famous 5 minute lesson plan and his Pose, Pause, Pounce, Bounce questioning technique and even embarks on a campaign to remove the "Shush" in lessons....Reason enough to make this book the top of your Christmas reading list.
