This review is from: White Witch, Black Curse (Rachel Morgan 7) (Paperback)
Kim Harrison has continued with the same successful formula, which works well in the Rachel Morgan series. As the other reviews probably suggest the book feels like a transition - continuing with the aftermath of Kisten's demise in book 6. But then with the introduction of the banshee, which proved to be an excellent additional character, the story took hold and kept pace moving toward the end.
All the other characters in the book return to good effect. I particularly enjoyed the meeting between Rachel, Ivy and Skimmer, which may be a direction that the next book might go in.
There is quite a lot of story and character interaction, particularly around the core group - Rachel, Ivy and Jenks. We finally meet Rachel's brother, (leading to family arguments and disagreements,)and a ghost from Rachel's past.
On the whole a pretty good addition to the series.
