We ordered 2 2GB RAM chips for our MAC PRO Graphics/Video machine in a busy edit suite. After installing the RAM - neither worked. The diagnostics checks we ran did not detect either RAM card as being present. We tried to contact Komputerbay - or KOMP Bay as it is also called and received an email from them telling us they had already discussed the problem with us. They had not. Amazon sent us a return label and advised they would not replace - we had to re-order the same product.
The re-order arrived - the computer recognised the chips but revealed they were only 1 GB each and not 2GB as ordered and as labelled on the cards themselves. Also they ran extremely HOT - meaning the cooling fans were going at full speed constantly. Very noisy in a graphics workstation. Clearly faulty. We wer again unable to have a discussion with Komp Bay and Amazon could not provide technical support - sent us another returns label.
We have decided to purchase from our local store where we can get customer service, and a quality product from people who know what they are talking about. The time wasted on this experience has cost us far more than the value of the product.
