I really enjoyed ths book. It's beautifully written with fabulous descriptions. The story is centred around grief and human coping mechanisms, so it is without doubt sad. My favourite character was Eric, and his gentle warmth and understanding was inspiring. I enjoyed the final and third section of the book the most. Lydia was very direct and real, easy to take to. The honesty of youth perhaps, even when displaying her less honest self to the councillor. It raises awareness of the individual asylum seeker and their reasons for leaving their home.
