Well worth a read,
This review is from: Diary of an On-call Girl: True Stories from the Front Line (Paperback)
I've read 'PC Copperfield's' and 'Inspector Gadget's' books too and found this as entertaining...but I have to confess I didnt really care if she and Will got together either. At least Bloggs is a more sympathetic character than either of the other bloggists though.
Police books such as this are very entertaining, and useful if frightening in their own way about how easy it would be to get a criminal record just so some PC can up his targets, but sadly they, the police, all regard themselves as being on the frontline vs barbarism...there are plenty of the rest of us who have got lowlifes to deal with but cant rely on being able to handcuff or thump people to get our way, few questions asked (dont make me laugh about Professional Standards Unit or the IPCC...they are there for YOUR protection, not the public's!) Bear it in mind guys.
A book about Mountain Rescue or the Lifeboats would be good...about real heroes. What about it publishers???
