I picked this album up second hand about 19 years ago and I am still playing it to this day! I was always a fan of Andy Summers , he was such an intergral part of the Police with his driving guitar riffs and solos. Listening to this 1989 album for the first time was an enjoyable surprise, although more main stream than his earlier works with Robert Fripp and the fantastic Mysterious Barricades this album is a very atmospheric piece of music. It starts with the fabulous opening track A Piece of Time with its muted guitar and dreamy quality, I remember listening to this album on a very long and tiring drive through Eastern Germany it just eased the stress of the drive somehow and the Kilometers just flashed past. One of the other outstanding Tracks for me on this album is "Piya Tose" featuring Indian Najma Akhtar withits strange an exotic vocals and time signatues. Also Check out Rain Forest in Manhatten another good track. A dreamy work for dreamier times maybe, but it still ranks up there as a great album for me and introduced me to several of our Andy's other albums and ,therefore, hours of quality music. I still to this day scour the internet for any new release by Mr Summers, he's quality.
