I purchased this album some time ago when a friend (who didn't even like this genre of music) recommended it to me, as I love all things metal. He heard 'The Bleeding' on the radio and urged me to listen to it. I am glad I took his advice, as I was blown away by this album. The songs are crushing, full of emotion and technically brilliant, but at the same time they are what can only be descibed as 'singable'. Even though the vocals come across very heavy, the vocals do switch to soaring sung choruses very similar to Fear Factory (let's face it, that is no bad thing whatsoever)! But they stick in your head and stay with you long after you have stopped listening. Standout tracks for me are 'Ashes', 'The Way of the Fist', 'Salvation' and 'The Bleeding'. Basically, the first four songs off the album. That isn't to say the rest of the album drops, it is just that these songs are so good they are hard to ignore. Indeed I found myself repeating these tracks several times before getting to the rest of the album. It is highly recommended that you get the limited edition, which has a cover of Faith No More's 'From Out of Nowhere' on it - just as good as the orignal!
A brilliant debut from FFDP, catch them before they get huge! 5/5
