There's nothing to touch it,
This review is from: Beats Working for a Living: Sheffield Popular Music 1973-1984 (Paperback)
If you're interested in Sheffield bands there's nothing comes close... except perhaps Mark Sturdy's Pulp book "Truth and Beauty".
Martin knows all there is to know about Sheffield bands, having written about them for about twenty years for the Sheffield Star and Sheffield Telegraph.
Pulp, Dig vis Drill, Midnight Choir, Mr Morality, Hula, Cabaret Voltaire, Clock DVA, ABC, Human League etc. are all there, and covered in-depth.
book comes with 20-track cd of rare sheffield recordings, including exclusive pulp track.
I'm not sure if the CD included in overseas version due to copyright reasons but it might!
