Chasing more than the Dragon: Quantum Gravity,
This review is from: Chasing the Dragon: Quantum Gravity Book Four (Paperback)
Justina Robson has a mind like a top shell, endlessly coiled, with unexpected twists of smooth mother-of-pearl. A real delight.
You might not understand all the scientific details of the stories and i must confess, she left me standing more than a few times! i didn't have a regular schooling in sciences which puts me at a disadvantage on occasion but do not let this put you off this truly fascinating series - when the tale gets going, it's a rollercoaster.
Having created a world so similar to us, she immediately puts it on a tilt and makes it all her own. Her heroine is a gutsy, pretty normal woman who has atonishing things thrust upon her and how she copes with this, the people and creatures she meets is the meat of the tale. Becoming a virtual cyborg is not something any of us is likely to experience but we never loose touch with the essential woman.
The story works on so many levels, words fail me but i love the amazing beings who people her life. And how many of us could cope with life as half-machine, several husbands and demon hangers-on??
i love these books and would recommend them to every sex!
