I purchased this to put an SSD inside my mid-2010 MacPro. First attempts didn't work - the SSD wasn't recognised by OS X (Lion). A forum search revealed that it could well be the bridge (or circuit board) in the Icy Dock. The circuit board is held in with three screws. I unscrewed those, took the board out and attached it to the SSD. With the circuit board now attached to the SSD I put them both back into the Ice Dock casing, put the three screws back in and bingo! Everything now worked. So, this is an excellent solution for putting a 2.5" SSD or hard drive into a 3.5" hard drive bay, but do be careful to make sure the SSD or hard drive is fully in-place in the Icy Dock touching the SATA contacts, otherwise your computer won't recognise the drive you're putting in. Good service from Amazon too.
