The 3D here is amazing, some of the best i've seen. The underwater, space and character animations are full of depth and pop out occasionally. I really was blown away as I wasn't expecting it to be this good. Even the end credits were a treat.
The underwater animations are particularly good as far as to be a bit scary in encapsulating the feeling of dark blue depths full of the unknown. If I was a kid I probably would have been petrified of the whale eating the Krill sequence. I felt like I was being eaten! horrible but great!
The story is average to poor and the songs are terrible. Don't expect the original, moving and wonderful songs from Disney. I hated listening to the majority of them to be honest (and there are many) I only continued watching because of the animation. I used to like Pink...until now. I do think kids would like the songs, however.
I felt the story was quite dark in places too, far from the lightness of Disney or Pixar animations. I quite liked this but kids could feel a bit scared.
The two Krill, voiced by Brad Pitt and Matt Damon saved this film in my opinion. They were brilliant and funny and went on an amazing adventure. I would love to see a film with them as the central characters because they were a heck of a lot more interesting and engaging than most of the penguins.

Thanks. Even if the 3D is brilliant if the songs are terrible we don't like songs in these films at the best of times other than the original Disney classics maybe.
