So the short version of this review is yes read this book! The slightly longer version is that this is a clean and interesting book with no abuse (which I hate!) despite the "forced" marriage scenario. I'm really impressed with how much ground this story covers, the twists and turns and the devious plots are brilliant and there are several really lovely moments where having children myself my heart was thoroughly engaged. So to sum up the longer review yes read this book!
Loved it! Loved the baby! Loved Darcy! Loved Elizabeth! Loved Mrs Milford! Loved Richard! All in all a fabulous book! I was a little wary as I’m not an angst lover but, hey, I survived 😊. Elizabeth wasn’t too happy with her marriage but luckily Darcy shared the full story with her! The baby also did his part in helping her to accept her destiny. Highly recommended!
I have nearly all of Ms King's books, she is one of my favorite authors and I don't think I have ever given a negative review. Her books are well written in good English as far as I'm concerned and this one is no different. Here comes the BUT ... ... loved the first half to three quarters of the story but then (for me) it became unrealistic and a bit silly. A big OTT in fact. I don't want to go into too much detail (I've had many a story ruined for me by reviews that give away the plot) but I'm certain no one, Lord or not, would get away with what Darcy's uncle did and does! I'm still giving it 4 * though, because it's a good story nevertheless.
