The Hidden Spaceship is a brilliant story about two children, Amelia and Noah, who discover a spaceship and end up on a beautiful planet where they are explained about the state of planet earth and how they can save it.
We've read many books trying to encourage children to be more environmentally friendly but I think this is one of the best we've read. The story is so much fun and shown as an adventure throughout the book which keeps the children interested and a spaceship and treasure is so fun for them to see. It's great to see environmental awareness included in the story and not just somewhere the story ends up!
The illustrations are fantastic and do a very good job of keeping the children excited with the story and clearly showing what is happening in the book and on planet Earth. The contrast between the beauty of the planet and earth makes it very easy for us to see why earth is being let down.
This is a fantastic book to encourage children to think about being more environmentally friendly and has some simple tips at the end which are achievable for children and something to aim for, a brilliant book.
This story is an ideal way to start the lesson for children about taking care of our planet. It's not a big lecture, but instead an action-packed story with courageous central characters.
Amelia and Noah find themselves being taken into space and viewing the earth from up above. An alien wants them to help save the earth, but they have to complete a mission to do so.
When I read this with my 7 year old, he was really interested to learn about extinct animals, what affect we have on the earth and also will the characters be able to complete their mission. He enjoyed listening to the story and wanting to find out what happened. The pictures are big and bold and really bring the story to life too, they drew him in from the start.
This book was a great way for me to talk to my little boy about important climate issues but in an age-appropriate manner.
At the core of this book is a fun story and that is what makes it an ideal age fir young children.
Read this book with my 6yr old boy. He loved it, the illustrations were beautifully done, the story easy to read and the message put across so well. Reading this book led us to a good talk about what is happening in the world and how we can all help. My son is very excited to read the next 2 books in this series 😊
