With a gutsy heroine, ruthless hero, loyal wolfhound and an old country estate this book had the right ingredients to deliver a very entertaining story - and it didn't disappoint. Luke Saleri has been left Greywood Hall, an estate in need of renovation. But there are some bizarre conditions that he has to fulfil before he can take ownership. Luke has no idea why he should be the beneficiary, but is determined to uncover his connection to the past owner. But first he needs the co-operation of neighbour Rhia Ashton and sets about it in a deliciously ruthless way. And if the wild Yorkshire landscape didn’t provide enough of a romantic setting, Luke whisks Rhia off to Brisbane and Rome before the mystery is completely unravelled. An excellent read to curl up with. Enjoyed it very much.
I loved this story. An easy to read page turner as we delve into the mystery of GreyWood Hall. Rhia and Luke meet by chance and from then on their lives are entwined, with Greywood Hall at the centre. Steeped in history, with rich description, this book is a fun, romantic read that will leave you intrigued till the very end.
A good read. Obvious how it was going to end but nevertheless made me think of Georgette Heyer's work. Good characters but the heroine seemed to have lost some of her vim and vinegar too early. When he inherits a rundown estate, he has no idea why, but it does lead him to make the acquaintance of his next-door neighbour. Although he would have preferred that the police hadn't been called in. However when he finds out the full details regarding his inheritance he is speechless. Not only does he have to live there for a year but he has to marry and fast. Who will he choose or will he go for a business arrangement? Why was the estate left to him - he was born in Australia from Australian and Italian parents?
When Luke Salieri unexpectedly inherits an old English manor house named Greywood Hall from a woman he has never met, he is pleasantly surprised. As a man who rebuilds and repairs buildings for a living, he can’t wait to get his hands on the estate. However, the sudden inheritance comes with some unusual conditions. Luke needs to live in the house for a whole year, together with his wife, before the house will be really his. ‎When he meets Rhia Ashton, a historian, she seems to be the perfect woman for the job. Both of them go into the deal with their own goals in mind, but while Luke considers it all a business deal, Rhia starts to reconsider and it doesn't take long before their feelings take over...
'Monogamy Twist' was quite a quick read since the length places it somewhere between a full-length novel and a novella. From the start I was intrigued by the plotline of the novel, which focuses on business man Luke Salieri who has just inherited a large English country manor with some extraordinary conditions attached to it. While it took me a bit of time to get used to Luke's character, I straight away liked Rhia, the female main character. It's quite an unusual situation the two find themselves in; going from strangers to spouses within a short timespan, but it was an interesting storyline and I was curious to see what would happen and which decisions Rhia and Luke would make.
I love English country estates, so the setting of Greywood Hall was a great one for a reader like me. Just the idea of unexpectedly inheriting a house like that got me excited! ‎I share Rhia's passion for old estates like Greywood Hall and loved seeing how passionate she was about the house and her research. ‎While occassionally the story seemed to be missing something, it has a lovely romance at its core and a good basis for an enjoyable read. Overall, 'Monogamy Twist' was an enjoyable romance read with a good storyline and two fascinating main characters; a read I enjoyed more and more as the story progressed and a nice introduction to a new author!
A fun read with likeable characters in a gorgeous setting. I really felt as though I was at Greywood hall, I could picture it as I read. I particularly enjoyed the mystery aspect of the book - why an inheritance was left to Luke from a woman he never knew! How Luke and Rhia tracked down the 'why' part of his inheritance gave an intriguing plot with lots of twists and turns along the way. Highly recommend!
A wonderful story packed with intrigue and romantic tension. I was immediately drawn to the mystery surrounding the house and its tangled secrets and enjoyed the way they were revealed.
Monogamy Twist is a great read - an easy to follow page-turner with amusing characters and fiery personalities. Set in the English countryside; the perfect backdrop to a mystery inheritance which makes our strong hero question both his past and his future, and after enlisiting the help of his attractive and impish neighbour, he ends up with a lot more than he bargained for. The book has a great combination of romance, passion, intrigue and amusement and is sure to keep the reader hooked!
A love story with passion and mystery developing throughout. This is a well written and easy to read book with an intriguing twist which keeps you reading until the end!
