Best LA Guns album since Vicious Circle.

Very impressed with this album. It isn't often that a band can be so far into their career and knock the ball so far out of the park. A lot of these tracks could sit happily on Cocked & Loaded, albeit they have a slightly darker tone.
My ONE gripe - and I nearly knocked a star off for this, until I realised that would be churlish - is the production. It's not great. The problem (as I see it) is that the album is produced by Tracii Guns and not particular well engineered (so the drums are lacking a bit). The album is all guitar and vocals with the bass and drums knocking about somewhere in the background. I can just see the pair of them in the studio "Turn the vocals up", "I think the guitars should be a bit louder", "I can't hear myself now, get the vox up", "Just a tweak on the guitars" and so on.
It's a shame as it almost prevented me listening to it a second time (which was when I really appreciated how good it was). It might not be so bad on an MP3 as they compress the hell out of everything but, if playing on a stereo, be ready to arm the graphic EQ.
