Finally comfortable walking wellies.
1 July 2016
After putting off wearing uncomfortable wellies for years, I've decided to shop for a comfortable pair after this summer's washout, fed up of wet legs and dirty jeans after my daily dog walking. After buying and returning several pairs, I was pleased to have found Aigle Rboot and Le Chameau Vibram Country which fits my narrow feet perfectly and decided to keep them both. They're both very structured so I get good support all the way from my feet to my calves. I'm a size 4 and decided to go for size 36(3.5) for the Aigle Rboot and size 37 for Le Chameau as the Rboot is roomier in general as the size goes up. Though my feet length was snug in the Aigle, it wasn't uncomfortable. I also bought the Aigle Aiglentine which i returned because it was too roomy and I didn't like the soft rubber. So if you have slim feet and ankle, and would like some support, these may be considerations for you. I'm 5 foot 3 in and both boots come right under my knee with Le Chameau about 1 cm taller than the Rboot. Both boots are without neoprene as I plan to wear them all year round. And yes, not only they feel like normal walking boots, they're both fashionable in a subtle way. I wear them daily for my dog walks in the woods so I can't comment on their hardiness for hard work.
