Couldn't disagree more with the 1st review, had this game 5 days,on early dispatch. First off,I'm a graphics junkie, hence I own a ONE X ,and have to say that the game looks OK,not bad,not great, But its sometimes all about gameplay and content, It reminds me of when the dirt rally games were good, and not so serious, this has loads of environments, great handling, and AI , There is loads of depth, with staff management, customisation, etc, and a breath of breath of fresh air in a crowded market, its no Horizon 4 beater, but the best rally game I have played on X1 to date. Graphics 7/10 Handling 10/10 Content 8/10 value 8/10 Recommended
Well never again will i trust kyltonn with a rally game. This looks poor and more like a ps2/360 hybrid from 10 years ago. Generic tracks and poor looking boxy cars
The biggest messup is that it has a career mode that you unlock the tracks and cars in....yet if you click "single race" guess what?
THEY ARE ALL OPEN ANYWAY!
NO REWARDS NO PROGRESSION LOOKS AWFUL SCREEN GLARES LIKE A 1980 CRT MONITOR FLASHING TEXTURES CARS DONT JUMP AND STICK TO THE TARMAC GOT BORED AFTER 1 HOUR
AVOID THIS MESS AND IGNORE THE OTHER REVIEWER ABOVE UNLESS YOU WANT TO WASTE 50 QUID DOWN THE DRAIN. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!
TheSixthAxis Sep 6, 2018 50/100 Lacking the precision required to tantalize the more serious racing fan, but perhaps too much of a challenge for many, V-Rally 4 is packed to the brim with nice ideas and potential, but just as many annoyances. Sadly, in this competitive marketplace, it is stuck in a ditch. The strange layout of the career mode and iffy handling model do their very best to put a downer on things, but I really hope Kylotonn has the resources to build upon this effort and provide something that can take the fight to the very best racing games in the future.
Eurogamer 50/100 Sep 7, 2018 An unlikely revival that's spirited in its return to the genre's arcade roots, but that is uneven in its execution. All this publication's reviews Read full review

SomosXbox Sep 6, 2018 58/100 V-Rally 4 wanted to be a different proposal from the existing rally games, but the return of this arcade franchise is not what many expected. Taking ideas from other games, it has combined them to create a diverse game that can be defined in a single word - irregular. The main mode is a constant challenge, but it's not deep enough, the graphics pretend to be beautiful, but they're not and the driving feel is neither arcade nor simulation. V-Rally 4 is a game that doesn't know where it wants to be and it's something that everyone will notice.
