After a long and intensive search finally found THE fitness tracker
on 5 September 2017
After 3 years I ve finally found the perfect fitness tracker with this Polar A370. I owned a fitbit one, that was ok-ish. Then I had a Garmin Vivosfit which was great but was very limited when it came to workouts. I ordered a Fitbit Alte 2 months ago but sent it back because the step count was significantly overestimated. I don t expect the step count to be 100% but when you do 500 steps and the count says 1240...that s not good enough. I then tried the Garmin Vivosmart HR which kept disconnecting all the time. The Bluetooth connection was unreliable and I had to re pair several times a day. Not good either. I bought a Fitbit Flex 2, it was nice, step count ok, but after only 4 weeks the tracker part itself fell out of the wristband...lost :(
I use this Polar A370 2 weeks now and am more than happy. There are many reviews online so I stick to what is important to me .
The device is very comfortable to wear 24/7, I have not allergic reaction and the tracker itself does not accidentally fall out of the wristband. It is very easy to set up, you re ready to go in just a few minutes. I had a problem setting up smart notifications, but an email to Polar support solved the issue: The Flow app needs an update, they are working on it. In the meantime setting up needs to be done in the app> device. switch notifications to 'on' but DO NOT SYNC YET> switch to your activity log in the app> NOW sync. And voila, your smart notifications are working.
The tracker is reliable, very accurate step count. The sleep monitor is first class because it gives you more insight into your sleep(duration, quality, heart rate) than any other tracker does. The Polar Flow app is good and easy to use.
When you start a workout you do this on your device and during your workout you can even see real time heart rate. That helps me to make sure I really get my heart rate into the zone I want it to be.
GPS is via phone and works very well.
I love the big screen and display, I can always-even without glasses- see notifications and time and date, just brilliant.
The tracker is waterproof.
The only con: at night, when you re moving in your sleep, the display goes on when you move your wrist . And boy, is this a bright screen. The spider on the ceiling is still blinded ;-) My husband complained but I solved this issue by attaching a cut to size bit of self adhesive blackish screen cover, like you can get for the side windows of your car to protect children from sun. This does the trick.
Battery life is 2 days with heart rate always on. I charge my tracker every second day during breakfast, so I don t miss out on many steps. It charges VERY fast :-)
Absolutely worth the money
I am a person who uses a tracker to count steps, make sure heart rate goes into the right zone, to check distance and performance during shorter runs, for swimming and sleep monitoring
