Not as user friendly as some other brands (eg Mikki) but has other advantages in my opinion. There are no metal parts in direct contact with the dogs mouth, the lead is at the back of the head so control is more like a normal lead and the nose harness readily slackens when the dog is not pulling. Downside - it takes time to fit (but gets better with practice) and cannot be left on the dog off lead without slipping and falling off. Wish I’d come across this first have tried at least 5 others, would buy again
Bought for a Springer Spaniel that would battle me the whole time on a walk by pulling. We have tried harnesses and other similar products with middling success.. He hated the Halti as this restricted his mouth and he spent the whole walk trying to paw the nose band off his mouth This k9 bridle was recommended by a dog trainer and so glad we got it, walking my dog now really has improved tenfold. If he tries to pull his head is pulled down woods slightly and soon learned this isn’t any fun and within a couple of walks is walking like a dream!! Highly highly recommended.
I bought this for a very strong and large, previously untrained, 13 month male Staffie from a Rescue Centre (so not the most compliant candidate to test this product). He pulls on the lead if he sees someone or a car passes and I needed to stop this. A trainer did some lead work with him and this helped for when there are no distractions, but as soon as he sees someone/something interesting he pulls again.
I have just had my first outing with him using this bridle and the positive impact was immediate and highly impressive. He didn’t like its presence on his nose but the pulling on the lead stopped straight away. I have the strong suspicion that if I perservere with it, his behaviour will improve to the point where the bridle will no longer be needed at all.
Other observations - the design is minimalist so that there is very little to cause the dog physical discomfort (I have read that various other, more cumbersome, designs can ride up into the eyes etc.) Initially trying to fit it on the dog in the back garden was difficult, but this was largely my fault because I should have practiced how it worked it before putting it on the dog. The dog hated the bridle and kept knocking it off. Once I sized it correctly using the silver clasp on the side, the dog still didn’t like it, but at least stopped rebelling. On the basis of my experience, I would suggest other owners to a) figure out how the various loops work before going near your dog with the bridle b) be prepared for some initial doggy rebellion and c) use the bridle in conjunction with a secondary lead/harness just in case the dog does manage to escape from it.
Overall - a really excellent product, it looks deceptively simple but in this case less is more and the results are outstanding.
I almost didn’t buy the item because it wasn’t available via Prime delivery but it arrived next business day anyway which was unexpected and very much appreciated.
Works great only problem if they pull backwards they can get it off but safety clip keeps them from getting loose but has stopped my Springer from pulling my arm off so I'm happy and I've tried everything this humane and works
Stanley, my 2yr old dalmation, loves his off-leash walks in the countryside, so on leash has been difficult when starting out with the excitement and anticipation of all that exploration. Today was the second time on the K9 bridle and the walk was a pleasure. He does rub his head against my leg to try to remove the bridle, but this will pass in time. Just being able to walk without being dragged up the lane was wonderful. Coming back has never been a problem, but now I have confidence to walk him where there are people, dogs and other distractions
Tried literally everything to stop my dog pulling like a mad puppy possessed. Leads, harnesses you name it. This is a bit tricky to put on at first but it works absolutely perfectly. Recommend by our vet, wish I’d bought this ages ago and saved a fortune on other products that state that they stop young dogs pulling.
Absolutely amazing! My springer pulls like crazy, i nearly get my arm ripped off with each step he takes. I've tried different ones in the past etc and nothing works but this! I can happily walk with him and my puppy in a calm stroll
This has made a great difference to walking our dog ,being a spaniel he tends to pull whilst on the lead but the use of this bridle has greatly reduced the pull. It is easy to fit and use and the dog seems not too bothered using it ,all in all a good product which I would recommend.
Works a treat! Finally our Cocker has stopped pulling. He's not the biggest fan, as he is always trying to paw at it, but after a while he forgets he's got it on. Wish I had bought one years ago, would have saved me hundreds £ in harnesses and leads...
Absolutely fantastic I saw on the comments that if they pull backwards it comes off but if you put the loops on the other side of the collar it pulls against the collar so doesn't come off! It's much more comfortable for him than the halti and he walks a lot better. A must buy if your dog pulls!!!
