I enjoyed this book which combined steampunk, magic and a bit of the pioneering spirit of the old Wild West. I'd love to read about Charlotte and Gregory's life as pirates, and more about Betsy's life too. So much potential left in these characters, and I can't wait to see what the author does next. NB I received a complimentary copy of this book, but I always give an HONEST review based wholly on my own opinions
It's been a long time since I read a steampunk novel, but Mr Asher has reignited my love for them. Set in Colorado this is the story about wonderful inventions, an Unseelie Fae and a small town full of the supernatural.
I had never read a Havenwood Falls book before this one, but I think my to read list just got longer as I feel like I was dropped into a fully formed universe with this book, one I want to immerse myself in a lot more.
I received a review copy of this book, but am in no way influenced in my review.
This is the first steampunk book that I've read & I really enjoyed it. I loved all of the characters, especially Charlotte. It was great to see some of the characters that we know from Havenwood falls in their younger days! The plot was engaging & full of action as Charlotte and Gregory race to protect Havenwood Falls against threats. It was interesting to read about all of their cool inventions and I now am really curious to find out if Gregory and Charlotte have anything to do with the items that Gabe finds in the conservatory of the Inn during 'Lose you not' ! I received a review copy of this book
They left their pirate lives behind and now they tinker in their shop making great items driven by steam and aether. They help the townsfolk where they are now living. Then a fae comes and starts to cause trouble. What will happen? See by reading I received an advanced copy and I enjoyed it so much that I want to review
Thoroughly enjoyed this steampunk novel - I'd not read any of the others, but the story did alone. It gripped me early on, really good story and writing style. I want to read the others now. Highly recommended. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book that I received from the publisher.
