Although the show is billed as Tyla’s Dogs D’amour, Tyla is the only original member performing (you can’t really blame him for using the Dogs moniker, as it probably means a lot more people will got his shows), but the band is really tight, with a great chemistry on stage. Good sound & picture quality, all be it a little rough n’ ready, which you would expect from any concert feature Tyla. A interesting mix of Dog’s tracks including a rare outing for “Gypsy Blood” & Tyla’s solo songs, all played with a great deal of energy & enthusiasm. Because of the number of Dog D’amour songs performed, the show does have a bit of a nostalgic fee to it, but they are such classic tracks it’s always nice to hear them again, plus they are subtle differences in how the songs are played. So an enjoyable live album/DVD & always nice to see his nibbs in his element, up the Dogs!
Great live album but the sleeve is mini album sleeve had a job getting discs out and even harder getting them back very tight if your paying this price i expect more than a card sleeve Pleased with the music but better packaging should have been used
I bought this after seeing Tyla with "his" Dog D'Amour after seeing them live on this tour. To cut a long story short, I had stopped listening to Tyla & THE Dogs D'Amour for almost twenty years. As a returning fan after so long, this was a welcome return to "The" Dogs D'Amour sound. I think Tyla (with himself on bass?) had been trying to do something like this for a few years (decades) after the Dogs split up way back in 1994, & never quite getting "that" sound right. I think with new bass player Matty in the band, things started to gel, & come together with "that" Dogs D'Amour sound. This has allowed Gary's guitar playing to really shine through here, (on earlier albums his playing is somewhat subdued in the mix, which is something I have never really understood). It is all captured well with this live CD & DVD. This a welcome companion album to In Vino Veritas, which also brings "that" Dogs D'Amour sound back to where it should be.
