This is the only book by Dan I have read so far. As former resident of Oswestry I found it very interesting, but would like to point out that as a child I used to live fifty yards from the place where the Morda Brook joins the River Vyrnwy, which is between Maesbrook and Melverley.
If I ever visit Oswestry I would like Dan to be my tour guide! It’s quite clear from this book that he not only knows the area very well but has a genuine love for his hometown which makes it an enjoyable read. It’s a nice mix of childhood memories and history of the area and shows his love of the great outdoors.
For anyone interested in local history and accounts of life in a rural Oswestry, there are many fascinating historical works out there. This book by Dan, adds to that collection of the town today, through the eyes of a younger generation. A really nice read.
Bought this book for my dad on father's day as we are both avid fans of Dan's YouTube channel and he loved it! It's a great collection of light hearted easy reading that let's you get a real taste for boating life. Wholesome book, that's fun and interesting throughout. Would definitely recommend.
