I am very happy with this tea. I would’ve given it 5 stars, but I find it very expensive for such a small pot. Having said that, I’ve tried all kinds of makes of matcha tea over the years and this is the best. Very green - exactly the right colour and really refreshing. It also froths up well. I use a battery-operated frother (as it takes too much work and effort to use my traditional Japanese one)
I brought this green tea at an introduction price and I am so glad that I did. Firstly, the product came in a neat little green sealed tin. The green tea is emerald green and is grounded very fine, there are no lumps and it mixes well. When you mix the green tea with a small amount of cold water and whisk it produces a creamy foam. The green tea is not bitter and is a pleasure to drink. I would highly recommend this green tea and it is better tasting than more expensive brands.
I was kindly given this organic matcha tea to try by the Pretty Smart Food Co. The matcha comes in a lovely small storage pot (which I will be reusing!). The powder itself is super bright green and healthy looking. I invested in a whisk as otherwise matcha powder can fall straight to the bottom of a mug. It works well to make a paste using warm but not boiling water and then to top up with more water if required. The taste is really refreshing and pleasant – I find it particularly good to give me some energy before a morning yoga session or a busy day at work. It is really good for the body and a great antioxidant. It is also tastier than any of my usual green teas and has tons more benefits! I love that it is 1st Flush Japanese style – totally pure unlike some other brands. It’s super versatile and I’m looking at other ways to use it including in smoothies and ice lollies. One tip would be to fully remove the inside ring-pull seal – I tucked mine back in and got a sprinkle of green over me when I next tried to open as matcha had collected on top! Would definitely recommend this matcha – I have juvenile chronic arthritis and anything that boosts my energy levels is my friend! :)
This was my first matcha tea and I am in love. It arrived promptly and the taste is amazing. I really like it's organic and the colour is vivid. I don't have a special whisk, so I had to impovise. I usually use a jar to mix a teaspoon of powder with some cold water, (like bartenders do to mix cocktails :D ) and then, when I am happy with the amount of foam, I add the hot water and/or milk and enjoy.
Love this matcha. Tastes delicious. Even got my 13yr old son into it. A bit on the expensive side but I'd rather have quality over quantity. I will continue to purchase if it stays at around £16. Tip - I bought a battery operated whisk to use so now my matcha froths up and blends beautifully.
I'm new to matcha tea and jumped straight into ceremony grade matcha, which makes a review hard to do as I don't have anything as a baseline. That said I can say it tastes amazing, as some one who drinks regular tea without milk and sugar I can whole heartedly say I don't be going back to regular tea. I was nervous about matcha as people say some brands are bitter, again not having a baseline makes this hard for me to gauge but I will say I didn't detect and kind of bitterness but instead was met with creamy and lightly but pleasantly sweet flavour notes. I'd 100% recommend this product to anyone who was looking to try matcha for the first time, and going of the reviews of people with more matcha experience than me I feel this could be one of the better Martha's available in the UK, especially at this price point.
First off, I'd like to say that I only placed my order for the Matcha Green Tea from The Pretty Smart Food Co, on the Wednesday night and I was sat drinking my first cup the very next afternoon - impressive. As for the product itself, I bought the Ceremonial Grade, Organic Matcha, that also said it was the authentic Japanese and the first Flush. Unfortunately I suffer from severe depression and about a year ago, I read an article about the numerous benefits of Matcha Tea, so I tried it. And it worked!! It improved my overall sense of wellbeing, even my GP noticed. However buyers beware - a couple of months ago, I bought some that claimed to be authentic etc but it was half the price of what I'd previously paid. I'm sure you've all heard the adage "You Get What You Pay For" - well I can guarantee in the case of Match Green Tea then this is very true. So back to my recent purchase (above) from The Pretty Smart Food Co - no it's not cheap BUT, I'm only on day 6, and I only drink 3 cups per day, but already I genuinely believe I am starting to pick up again so thank you guys for delivering almost at the speed of sound ha ha , but better still helping to improve my life - I can't recommend this product enough and reiterate that if it's too cheap it's more than likely not the ceremonial grade which is what works for me Thank you and I will most definitely be re-ordering when my stock runs low :)
This is the third matcha brand I’ve tried, and probably the nicest tasting ceremonial matcha I have come across. Small tin, but does give you about 30 servings which works out at about 60p a cup. Also proper Japanese quality which is an added bonus!
I was planning on having this tea every other day due to the price. But honestly after I've had my cup it makes my body feel great which makes me happy. I'll probably end up having a cup or two every day because of this, well worth the price.
This will be easier to drink if you're a green tea fan by the way. My boyfriend is thinking about hopping from the coffee to this stuff because of the benefits, which is something I totally recommend because matcha tea contains basically the same amount caffeine yet is really good for you.
This is the first brand of matcha I have tried and I'm not disappointed, like I said it's not an easy drink but if you hold your nose it's easy, and over time I can see myself getting used to it.
