Very unpleasant odour - not good quality in my opinion.
20 September 2018
I feel sorry to have to post this, but I opened the bag and smelled it and I was taken aback. It smells filthy, like it's been derived from low grade, rotting carcass bones - almost fishy. The packaging doesn't tell you what's in the collagen or not or why it smells so bad - as in fact it's meant to be 'odourless'.
I'm willing to pay the extra for Primal Collagen when it's available, because there is no unpleasant odour and it has an almost sweet, milky taste. I used to eat it neat from the spoon then follow it with a vitamin C drink. Primal also tells you where the collagen comes from, i.e. grass fed animals from Germany where it has been tested as pure from any contaminants. Whereas this brand just tells us it comes from the EU. But it's definitely of inferior quality. I'm careful what I put into my body, and it may be that the collagen itself in terms of protein is beneficial, but I don't trust the odour, so there is something else in there, also that I would be ingesting. Nothing that smells so bad can be good in the long run.
