Not as good as the bagged Miele vacuums
16 November 2018
I have an old bagged Miele vacuum cleaner and thought I would like to try going bagless. The bottom line for me is that this has at best half the suction of my old cleaner. The suction is probably sufficient, however at full tilt my old cleaner's suction is so strong you can hardly move the head on carpet. That is not the case with this cleaner. This may be because the machine has less power (890W vs 2200W). It struggles with pet hairs on carpets. Also for me the new fancy handle is not as ergonomic as the old simple hose which gave you a good solid grip. It feels like it puts a strain on your wrist and seems somewhat awkward. Also it is pretty flimsy, the plastic moves and I can see it breaking at some point. The power switches in the handle are nice however. The hose from the machine to the handle is shorter which means the machine has to move more often. It is not too difficult to lift, however it is quite bulky which means it is harder to use on stairs. It only just stands on a stair step and feels like it would fall over quite easily. It is quite a bit quieter than my old Miele. The large head for use on wooden floors is great and makes it much quicker, however the big head needs more suction power. Sorry Miele! I normally find your products to be first class, however this product I think needs more work. For the money, it should be a lot better.
