Solid collection of stories, ranging from the strange to the horrid, with macabre and dark in-between. Well written and very readable, this is a book you'll probably read in one sitting. Nothing too gory or splat-fest, just good, solid storytelling to make you go 'eeew!'. Hopefully there will be more from these authors - I'm off to see what I can find... I'd like to see a release every Halloween please!
Had this bought for me by a friend who knows I love horror stories, was a bit sceptical with it being new writers but have to say what a brilliant lot of short stories!! In particular the stories that will stay with me are Ticks by Lewis Williams (as someone who walks a lot this freaked me out) Bad boys don’t get dessert can only say OMG awesome!! And Told you so by Mark A. Smart as it scarily close to what could happen at any moment! Some other great short stories, would definitely recommend for anyone wanting to have a little 😱 moment...off to read the second Corona book of horror stories now.
I have read many of the noted horror/ghost writers from M R James to Karl Edward Wagner and Stephen KIng and this group of short stories demonstrates that there is a wealth of talent out there waiting to be discovered.
I read the entire book in one sitting. Terrific stuff and hope that there will be another volume along in the near future.
